First-Time Manager Transition: Leadership Skills Development Programm

A three-month, research-informed journey that accelerates the shift from individual contributor to people leader.
Target group of the programm
The program is designed for indiviaduals with a technical background, previously acting as specialits, who recently got promoted to a coordination or managerial role. Moreover, specialists that aim to become people managers in the short term are also welcomed!
- New managers or coordinators with less than 18 months in role, including team leads and project managers
- Idealy, participants are from technical backgrounds such as engineering and ICT
- We look for individuals who self-identified a development need and opted in voluntarily
- The programme involved no fees for participants but required consent to research data collection

Programme structure

- 3 themed workshops:
- Shifting Identity
- Mastering the Day-to-Day
- The Strategic Leader
- 2 group coaching sessions anchored in articipant’s self-assessment and objectives
- 2 short online surveys to capture baseline and endline data
- A follow-up conversation three months post-completion to consolidate learning and transfer to practice

Ethics and data protection
Please be advised that this pilor program is part of a research program, for the researcher’s master disertation.
- The program is designed to support individual development, entailing a minimal psychological risks
- Participation is voluntary, with written or digital informed consent
- Participants can request access to their own data
- All participants may withdraw with no penalties for opting out
- All personal identifiers will be removed or coded during data analysis and reporting
- Secure storage and restricted access to sensitive information will be ensured
